Minutes 1919-1944.

The records consist of minutes of the New Guinea Section of the Board of Foreign Missions of the American Lutheran Church. Box 1 contains bound copies from 1919-1940. Box 2 contains loose carbon or mimeographed copies for 1932-1944. Both boxes include the reports of the New Guinea Section that were prepared for and presented to the meetings of the Board of Foreign Missions as well as cover letters sent with the minutes. Those from 1919-1932 are in German. After 1944 the New Guinea Section and the India Section of the Board of Foreign Missions no longer operated independently. Later minutes, therefore, are part of the Board of Foreign Missions minutes (see ALC 29/1).
